Autumn Leaves Festival

The Autumn Leaves Festival showcases our rich musical heritage, such as Old-Time, Blue Grass and Gospel performed by local musicians on the downtown Mt. Airy stage; the unique arts & crafts of more than 170 craftsmen line the streets with many demonstrating their talents and skills passed down through the generations; then there is "Food for the Soul", ham biscuits, collards & cornbread, barbeque, hamburgers, ground steak and more served with hospitality by our local civic and other community groups. This year's festival will be held in Downtown Mount Airy on Friday, October 8th (9am-9pm), Saturday, October 9th (9am-9pm) and Sunday, October 10th 12pm-6pm)

First Day of Autumn

Tuesday is the first day of Autumn. The day was overcast with a few drops of rain here and there. The sun came out for a few minutes around supper time.

Our flowers look the prettiest they have all summer. They only have a few more weeks left as it will soon be October and we will be getting some frost.

This is the best time of the year, crisp nights with warm days and a beautiful Carolina blue sky!
