The holidays are just around the corner. Bring your coolers and your CASH to do some shopping with these small businesses! (Cash is preferred as not all vendors accept plastic or checks.)
Check the farm's Facebook page closer to the event for more details. (There may be additions, deletions or revisions to some of the information above as the time draws closer.)  We'll be posting what each of these vendors will be bringing as time nears.

Forsyth Creek Week

Forsyth Creek WeekParticipate in Forsyth Creek Week March 16-23

The first-ever Forsyth Creek Week, coming March 16 – 23, will offer a full week of fun, educational and hands-on activities for all ages and interests, including events that will appeal to bird watchers, anglers, film buffs, book readers, shutterbugs, and do-it-yourselfers.
All these activities and more, says Creek Week organizer Roseann L’Esperance, are designed to give Forsyth County residents the opportunity to connect with – and appreciate – our local waterways. “It’s a good opportunity to focus on the water in our community, what we like about it and what we can do to help it,” said L’Esperance, who is the senior community educator for Winston-Salem’s Stormwater/Erosion Control Department.
Forsyth Creek Week is presented by North State Environmental and is being organized by a coalition of 15 local government and non-profit agencies. Activities during Creek Week include:
  • “Creek crawls” – guided tours to learn the signs of a healthy creek by looking at creek banks and aquatic life.
  • Fishing derbies, one for kids at Kernersville’s Century Park Lake and one for adults at Salem Lake.
  • Demonstrations of the fast-growing sport of kayak fishing, and a fly-fishing workshop on casting and fly-tying.
  • Workshops on how to make a garden rain barrel or repair an eroding backyard stream.
  • Films and a book discussion to give the big picture of the importance of water in our lives.
  • Children’s activities, including water-themed story times at libraries and a “Creek Week Craft Hour.”
  • The Creek Week Photo Contest for photos taken at Creek Week events, with gift cards for daily and grand prize winners.
Forsyth Creek Week also includes extended hours at the 3RC Envirostation for accepting household hazardous waste, Operation Medicine Drop to prevent prescription drugs from getting into our water supplies, and the Great American Clean-up, a service opportunity to prevent litter from washing into local creeks and streams.
Complete information about all Creek Week events is available at www.ForsythCreekWeek.org.
