Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Tropical Storm Andrea brought us 8 straight days of rain last week.

We caught Carmela, one of our nubian does, keeping herself entertained by drinking rainwater as it comes off the roof - - so much better than what's in her bucket!

Nap Time

Sweet nubian doeling napping in the hay after her bottle.

We have lots of nubian and nigerian dwarf kids around the farm, with more on the way.  We have started back milking the does.  We will continue making the aged raw milk goat cheese for our farm store in addition to the new fresh chevre that will be available in March 2013.

Goat Love

It's always a fun day when the grands are both at the farm and helping in the farm store!

It tough to keep them out of the pasture.
They LOVE the Nubian goats, especially when there's baby goats!

Aged Raw Milk Goat Cheese in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point)

We are a Grade B dairy and the goat's milk comes from our own Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. We are a farmstead operation which means the cheese is made from the milk of our own herd (no milk is purchased) and on the farm where the goats are raised. It is produced by hand in small batches.

For more details about the cheeses available, please visit Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery

We are located near the intersection of Hwy 65 and Hwy 8 (Germanton Road) at the Forsyth / Stokes County line.

Website has store hours along with information on the other farm products that are available.

"Lady" sliding down a hill on her side (Wish I could have gotten a pic of her on her back with her feet up in the air .)

They start at the top of the hill, rub their bellies and proceed to slide themselves all the way to the bottom.
