Kickstarter Campaign for Goat Playset & Storybook

Kickstarter Campaign: Are You Kidding? A Goat Playset and Storybook about Birth

This unique project will only be funded if the goal is met by the deadline.

Are You Kidding? is a toy and storybook designed to gently introduce children to the wonder of (goat) birth through play.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1889313416/are-you-kidding-a-goat-playset-and-storybook-about?ref=live

Kids you love will love playing with Margo the Momma goat and her two kids playset, and reading about the excitement on the farm when the animals discover Margo is kidding.

Margo, the toy goat, gives birth to her two kids the same way Margo the real goat did. This gentle, authentic birth process helps children learn the real facts of life as they’re having fun helping Margo with her kidding. Helping Margo kid encourages pretend play and stimulates children's imaginations.

The storybook, Are You Kidding?, is a 37-page easy reader completely illustrated by six-year old Vivi, who was the inspiration for the toy. Vivi won last year’s PBS Kids Go! national book contest, so young readers are in for a real treat. The book includes an introduction to dairy goats for young readers.

Three techniques of using cover crops to enhance soil fertility and reduce erosion are showcased at this market garden site. A summer-planted bed of millet was mowed before the fall planting of garlic now growing. Two beds of summer-planted buckwheat were allowed to frost-kill, with the crop residue left in place to protect the soil over the winter, yet allow easy spring time cultivation and planting. Three other beds were seeded in late summer to wheat and clover, which will be allowed to grow until late May, and then mowed for summer cash crop plantings.

Homeowners learn how to work with nature, no matter where they live, whether they garden in a city or suburban lot, a 20-acre farm or the common area of a condominium.

The educational series is comprised of four classes that explore the role of soils, water, vegetation and materials in sustainable landscape design.

Sustainable landscapes can help alleviate the pressure being placed on the Earth’s ecosystems by working with nature to provide clean air and water, fertile soils and other essential aspects of our daily lives.

The Landscape for Life™ series is a product of the Sustainable Sites Initiative- a partnership between the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin and the United States Botanic Garden
