Jelly Bean
Hello, my name is Jelly Bean. I am a ewe (female sheep). I was born on Good Friday, 2010. Farrah, my mother, abandoned me so I was raised by Renee' Pappas and her neighbor Jane Edwards. I was bottle fed every four hours so I would grow healthy and strong. Life was good!
But all too soon, I had to begin an incredible journey to try to find my special place in the world. With the help of my friends, both human and animal, I found that place where I am loved and secure.
A book has been written about me, Jelly Bean Finds Her Special Place.
A book has been written about me, Jelly Bean Finds Her Special Place.
Visit my web site and meet me and my friends. Hunt for the hidden jelly beans as you travel with me to find my "special place!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jelly Bean's "special place" is at the nearby Woosley Farm in Pfafftown, NC. Jelly Bean helps give tours their small family farm in the countryside of Forsyth County and learn about animals, plants, and the people that bring food to our table.
Signed copies of Jelly Bean Finds Her Special Place is available for purchase in our farm store!

Sneak Peeks
As you know we are gearing up to begin producing goat milk cheese. We wanted to share a few pictures of the almost finished creamery portion of our new farm store.
Sneak peek of the future cheesemaking room...
We made the cheese press that you see in the foreground of this picture. It folds against the wall when not being used.
Sneak peek of the milking room...
The small sliding door that you can see, is the door that the goats will leave thru after they have been milked.
One very important thing missing from the picture of the milking room is the milking stand. We picked up my new aluminum milking stand this week and moved it in the milking parlor. After 3 attempts, we finally got it in the door. Had to lay it on it's side, hold it straight up in the air and put the top in first and then the bottom. Needless to say, we breathed a big sigh of relief when we finally got through the door with 1/4" to spare. I love it!

Feed Bag Totes - Update
We posted at the end of February that we'd started making totes out of empty feed bags. We've added added pig, horse, and bird tote bags to the original assortment of goat, chicken, cat, and dog feed bags.
Our colorful $8 tote/market bags, which are perfect for any animal lover, are available in our farm store and just look at those great graphics! Made from used livestock feed bags. The plastic material ensures that this waterproof, durable bag will last for a long time. Just think, not only are you snagging yourself a cool bag, but you are doing it in a earth friendly way. You are reusing; and, if you use it as a market bag, you're also reducing!
Over the weekend our web-nanny went to Cary Creative Center, Inc - "C3" in Cary, NC. Their mission is to promote creative expression, environmental awareness, new technology and community through the collection and redirection of resuasable materials. She was able to find a few more dog food bags that made perfect tote bags. They even had some extra egg cartons that we've been searching everywhere for!

Goat's Milk Lotion
Ravens Moon Herbal is located in Walkertown, North Carolina. We actully met them a few years ago, when they purchased some of our goat's milk as they were getting started making their soaps and lotions. With the recent opening our farm store, we've reconnected with Ravens Moon Herbal, who now has their own goats and is creating a wider variety of goat's milk products. We sell a variety of their goat's milk lotions in our store at Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery, LLC.
